Bruceski - ALS Benefit
Each
year at the end of August, beginning of September when the First Tee Golf
Tournament comes into town, Jack London's teams up with The ALS Association
Bay Area in an effort to spark public awareness of the need to continue the
fight against a defeatable enemy, ALS also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
The
main event of The Bruceski is a BBQ buffet held in the evening on the
Thursday of First Tee Weekend at Jack London's Grill. You can enjoy
delicious BBQ, learn about current research and hobnob with professional
caddies (and golfers) while attending the benefit honoring Bruce Edward, Tom
Watson's long time caddie and friend of Jack London's, who died from ALS in
the Spring of 2004.
With
your admission donation of $50.00 or more (all going to ALS research and
support) you get all-you-can-eat buffet, beer and wine from the mini bar and
a chance to meet the finest professional loopers in the world, caddies from
the PGA Champions Tour. Both golfers and caddies will be present at the BBQ
to share their experiences.
While enjoying yourself at The Bruceski you have the opportunity to bid
on golf memorabilia donated by the pros themselves as well as to sign up to
sponsor The Jack London's Walk Team for the "Walk to D'Feet ALS."

In addition to The Bruceski BBQ soiree, you can join the Jack London's Walk
Team who march every year at the "Walk to D'Feet ALS" held in the Fall at El
Estero Park.
