Well, this yoyo is a halfway descent yoyo. It loops really well for a ball bearing . The yoyo is okay for string tricks too. I don’t own one, but I got a good enough feel for one. I was at a hobby store where some kid was bragging about all the yoyos he had. HE was using an RBII. Well, I don’t know what the kid was doing, but the tricks he was doing were pretty simple. When he let me use it I couldn’t pull off some of my tough ones with this yoyo (which could be my fault). I could very easily pull off reach for the moon, so it could loop pretty well. On a another note this yoyo is indestructible. IF this yoyo was heavier it could hurt like heck. So I’m kinda glad it is lighter for all our sakes. Bottom line I’d take a TBB and go with it any day, for it costs the same as a RB1, but seems to have better performance.

Once again I’m reviewing a product that’s been out for years. But I felt that since I had dissed Yomega so hard about the Firestorm Wing, I should make up for it somehow… so I stopped off at the local hobby shop and picked up an RBII. As soon as I left the shop, I opened it up to see the bearing, and promptly dropped it under the seat of my car… so after 15 minutes, I found it and reassembled the little guy, and gave it a try. I loved it! I love this yo-yo! It sleeps like a baby and responds like NYPD crime unit (quickly and with much force). Since I’m still super amateurish, the little bits that stick out on the side don’t bug me, and I love the way this thing looks. It feels rock solid, loops pretty darned good, and stays asleep long enough to get some fancy tricks in. For the money, I’d say this would be a fantastic starter and intermediate yo-yo, and heck, Mark McBride uses one, and he’s something of an expert.

The RB2 was advertised as…”used by Jennifer Baybrook” in achieving her World Title. I didn’t doubt this statement one bit, but I felt if it was good enough for Jennifer…than it had to be good enough for any “rookie” player’s out there, as well. I have not seen Jennifer perform in person, but I have seen her video she has done for Yomega. This young lady is a “fantastic” performer, and yoing seems to come natural for her. I was hoping the video would have had her performing with the RB2, but on the video she doesn’t use it at all. I was curious as to what could be expected and achieved with this yoyo, in the hands of a top “performer”. My first observation of the yoyo was…I thought it came off the Yomega drawing board too soon, and went into production before it was completely finished The part’s I’m referring to is, that “both sides” of the yoyo’s axle’s…extend out past the yoyo’s body. Check this out! This is obviously of no hindrance to the “advanced” player’s using the RB2. But everyone out there is not quite up to that level, as yet. I consider myself a “rookie” and therefore do not “hit the string” every time I attempt to do a “trapeze”. What I found was happening to me was…I was “coming close” enough…BUT…I was catching the protruding edges of the extended portions of the axles on the RB2, with the string, instead of a clean miss. To me this was annoying…so I preceded to find a cure and try and finish the design of the RB2 to satisfy my type of yoyo play. I have corrected the situation to some extent and have improved on the play of the RB2.( I don’t want to get into all I’ve done to improve the performance at this time.) On first feel and impression of the RB2, I felt it was too light for my liking. I have also thought Yomega’s “ball bearings” were not of the “highest quality”…but for around $10 dollars you get what you pay for. I have also found that the RB2, “dies” rather quickly if you’re attempting anything that requires any length of spin. I haven’t attempted to do any “loops” with it as yet…but I didn’t purchase it for looping in the first place. I would have liked to have seen Jennifer use it on her video, and what she could have done with it. The RB2 is not one of my favorite “players”…but I do get it out on occasion just to see what else I can change to improve the performance a little bit more.

i got the rb2 for free when my friend at school gave it to me. it loops very well, sleeps decently, and is extremely responsive. it never catches on the string unless you do something terribly wrong. i like the rb2 because it is light, sleeps long enough for most tricks, and comes up when you want it to. basically, the rb2 is my best all around yoyo i have right now.

The rb2 is a good yoyo with good sleepng abilities but its pretty ugly. It is not very responsive because when i did a 40 second sleeper it didnt come up until i jerked it really hard. Other then that it is my best yoyo because i am an amateur and it is my first yoyo with any type of bearing and it is unbelievably light.

The RB2 is a good all around yo-yo. I don’t use it that much but it is ok. I managed to get 1:13 sleep out of it, which I think is good. It’s pretty smooth on the string, but you will probably need practice to loop it well. When I purchased it I knew at the time that Jenny Baybrook used it to win the championship, but I can’t see how she did so well with this as it isn’t really that good for freestyle. Anyway, I think you should definitely get this yo as it is good for the money.

I have had this yoyo since 98 and i am somewhat pleased by it. First off if you don’t have brain lube your screwed! It sleeps pretty well, about 45 seconds for me. It kind of sucks on string tricks, one or two wraps thats it, and 6 or 7 ATW’s for me. If your willing to spend 10 bucks it’s kind of a waste of money. But if you want a light weight “half-butterfly” shape you ought to get it.
